Optimize clinical pathways with data and research
Detailed information about patient progress allows clinical teams to make evidence-based improvements to their care delivery, enabling a more efficient and effective service line.
For example, the Force Clinical Integration team found that 40% of pain alerts are triggered from day 5 to day 8 post-TJA surgery, typically between 2 and 3 pm.
In response to this finding, Force created preemptive education focused on pain management and setting expectations, and strategically delivered it based on when patients were most likely to be anxious about high pain levels.
When patients are prepared to feel pain, they experience less anxiety and are better able to take care of themselves, which results in fewer calls to the doctor and unnecessary ER visits.
The Force Clinical Integration team continues to analyze patient pain data and expects to find that better educated patients have fewer pain alerts over time.
